Refunds, disputes and cancellations
How refunds, chargebacks and cancelled subscriptions change commissions.
Supaffi listens to Stripe for refunds, chargebacks and cancelled subscriptions, and adjusts unpaid commissions on its own. You do nothing in Supaffi. Once a commission is paid, it is final.
Refunds
- A partial refund of a quarter of the payment lowers the commission by a quarter. Several partial refunds add up, always measured against the original commission. Once they reach the whole payment, the commission is voided and shows Refunded in Stripe.
- On an invoice that also bills things the affiliate did not refer, a refund counts against the referred part first.
- The commission's panel shows What it was and What it is now.
- A refund that Stripe reports before the sale itself still applies when the sale is recorded.
Disputes
While a chargeback is open, its commission cannot become payable. A Payable commission goes back to Pending, and its panel shows Disputed (or Flagged, disputed).
- A dispute that Stripe reports before the sale is applied when the sale is recorded.
- If your Stripe key cannot read disputes, the commission stays held until a dispute event arrives or you void it. Check the key's permissions in Connect Stripe.
- A dispute on a commission you already paid changes nothing in Supaffi.
Cancellations
When a referred subscription is cancelled in Stripe, it earns nothing more. Commissions it already earned stay, and follow their hold as usual. The Still paying counts on your dashboard and the affiliate's go down by one.
If the customer subscribes again through the same referral, the commission duration carries on from where it was. A failed or paused invoice earns nothing, and Supaffi shows nothing for it.
After a payout
Credit notes that credit the customer's balance instead of refunding them do not change commissions. Only refunds and lost chargebacks do.
