Set up/Products

Products

Run a separate affiliate program for every app you own from one install.

A product is one app you sell. Each product gets its own affiliate program, on its own subdomain, connected to its own Stripe account.

One install, many products

One install runs as many products as you like. Each product has its own:

  • Name and website. Affiliate links send visitors to the website.
  • Affiliate subdomain, such as affiliates.yourapp.com. No two products can share one.
  • Stripe key and webhook.
  • Programs, affiliates, clicks, commissions and payouts.

Nothing is shared between products. An affiliate who joins two of your products has two separate accounts, even with the same email.

With two or more products, the Products page lists them all. Setup marks a product whose setup is not finished.

Add a product

  1. Start a new product

Open the product switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose Add a product. With two or more products, the Products page has the same button.

  2. Go through the five setup steps

Product, Subdomain, Stripe key, Commission and Tracking. Each has its own page in these docs: Affiliate domain and DNS, Connect Stripe, Programs and rates and Tracking script and links.

  3. Share the signup link

Finish opens Your affiliate program is live with the signup link to share. The first program is named after the product and anyone with the link can join it.

A step ticks green once its check passes. The DNS and tracking checks can pass later, so you can carry on while you wait for them. A product you leave halfway shows Setup, and opening it resumes where you stopped.

Each product needs its own website. Adding a second product for the same site fails with A product on that site already exists.

Switch between products

The product switcher at the top of the sidebar lists every product with its subdomain. Pick one to open its dashboard. With two or more products, All products opens the Products page, with each product's affiliate count and what you owe.

What the subdomain serves

The affiliate subdomain is the public side of a product. Supaffi tells products apart by the address a request arrives on.

Path on the subdomainWhat it does
/Sends visitors to the affiliate pages, and a logged-in affiliate to their dashboard.
/affiliatesOpens signup for the oldest program with Public signup on, or the affiliate login if no program is open.
/track.jsThe tracking script for this product.
/api/webhooks/stripeWhere Stripe sends this product's events.

Your own dashboard is never served on a product subdomain. Owner pages such as /login and /dashboard return a 404 there.

Product settings

Open Settings in the sidebar. It has three sections.

SectionWhat you can do
ProductEdit Name, Website and Subdomain, and see whether DNS and HTTPS work.
ConnectionsSee whether the Stripe key and webhook work, and replace either. See Connect Stripe.
DangerDelete the product.

Delete a product

  1. Open Settings, then Danger

Press Delete next to Delete this product and everything in it.

  2. Type the product name to confirm

    Then press Delete product.

  3. Clean up outside Supaffi

In Stripe, delete the webhook endpoint described as Supaffi: <product>. Supaffi leaves it in place. Then remove the tracking script from your site and the DNS record for the subdomain.
