General

Is Supaffi free?

Self-hosted Supaffi is free under AGPL-3.0, with no limits on products, programs or affiliates, and it never takes a cut. Supaffi Cloud is on a waitlist. See Cloud and self-hosted.

Which payment providers does it support?

Stripe, through Checkout Sessions you create, and Payment Links, buy buttons and pricing tables since 0.4.0. Polar and Paddle are planned. See What Supaffi does not handle.

Does Supaffi pay my affiliates?

No. The Payouts page lists who to pay, how much and where. You pay them your own way, then press Mark paid. See Paying affiliates.

Does Supaffi send email?

No, of any kind. When an affiliate needs a password, you create a password link and send it yourself. See Managing affiliates.

Can I run programs for several products?

Yes. One install runs any number of products, each with its own subdomain, Stripe account, programs and affiliates. See Products.

Setup

Do I need a domain to install?

No. The owner dashboard is served on your server's address. Each product needs a subdomain of its own site later, such as affiliates.yourapp.com, because the referral cookie is first-party. See Affiliate domain and DNS.

Can I use Cloudflare?

Yes, as your DNS provider, with the proxy off (grey cloud) on the product's record. With the proxy on, the record points at Cloudflare and the subdomain check fails.

How do I test without real payments?

Supaffi has no test mode. Add a separate product connected with a Stripe test key and buy through one of its affiliate links. See Test your setup.

Do I need a cookie banner?

That is your call. The script sets one first-party cookie, __supaffi_referral, for 90 days when a visitor arrives through an affiliate link. Consent is up to your site. See Tracking script and links.

Commissions and payouts

When can I pay a commission?

Once its holding period is over, 30 days by default, and no dispute is open on the sale. It then shows as Payable. See Commission lifecycle.

What if a customer is refunded after I paid?

A paid commission is final and nothing is clawed back. The holding period is what protects you, so set it at least as long as your refund window. See Refunds, disputes and cancellations.

Can one affiliate earn a different rate?

Yes. Set a custom rate on the affiliate, or move them into another program. See Programs and rates.

How long is a referral valid?

The customer must buy within the program's Time to buy, 60 days by default and at most 90, the life of the cookie. Renewals then earn for the program's commission duration. See What earns a commission.

Self-hosting

Does Supaffi update itself?

No. The dashboard tells you when a release is out, and you run one command. Your database is backed up first. See Updates.

I forgot the owner password

There is no password reset for the owner yet, so keep it in a password manager. You can change it while logged in, from Account.

What should I back up?

The database, on a schedule, and MASTER_ENCRYPTION_KEY, stored apart from it. See Backups.

Can I run it behind nginx or another proxy?

Yes. If ports 80 and 443 are taken at install time, Supaffi leaves them to your proxy. See Reverse proxy and HTTPS.
